About

Asking Alexandria formed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2003 by guitarist Ben Bruce, initially under the names Amongst Us and End of Reason. Bruce subsequently moved to Nottingham, England, in 2008 and reformed the band with new members, including lead vocalist Danny Worsnop and drummer James Cassells. This solidified lineup released their debut album, “Stand Up and Scream,” in 2009, which charted on the Top Heatseekers, Top Hard Rock Albums, and Top Independent Albums in the US. The singles “Final Episode (Let’s Change the Channel)” and “Not the American Average” both achieved RIAA Gold certification, selling over 500,000 copies each. Their early career involved extensive touring across America and Europe, supporting bands such as Evergreen Terrace, Alesana, We Came as Romans, and Attack Attack! They also performed at significant festivals including The Bamboozle and Thrash & Burn.

Their second album, “Reckless & Relentless,” released in 2011, marked their entry into international charts, appearing on the UK Rock Chart and Australian Albums Chart. This period saw them headline tours in the UK and join major events like the Soundwave Festival in Australia and the Vans Warped Tour. In 2012, after Worsnop sustained a torn vocal cord, the band released the new song “Run Free” and prepared for their third album, aiming for a more radio-friendly sound while maintaining their heavy core. “From Death to Destiny” (2013) became their highest-charting album to date, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and selling over 41,000 units. They continued touring with Korn and participating in festivals like Rocklahoma and Download Festival.

A significant turning point occurred in 2015 when Danny Worsnop departed and was replaced by Denis Stoff. With Stoff, the band released “The Black” in 2016. However, Worsnop returned in late 2016, and the band released their self-titled fifth album in 2017, which showcased a notable stylistic shift towards stadium rock. Subsequent albums, “Like a House on Fire” (2020), “See What’s on the Inside” (2021), and “Where Do We Go from Here?” (2023), demonstrate their continued evolution and exploration of diverse rock influences. The departure of founding member Ben Bruce in 2024 marked the end of the original lineup, with the band continuing to perform and release new material.
