Aurthohin, a pioneering and influential force in Bangladeshi rock music, was formed in 1998 by Saidus Sumon (vocals and bass guitar), Tonmoy Rahman (lead guitar), Ponir (rhythm guitar), and Rumi Rahman. The band made its debut with the album ‘Trimatrik’ in 2000 through G-Series, quickly establishing its presence in the nascent Bangladeshi rock scene with an innovative approach that led to significant record deals. This early success was followed by the critically acclaimed album ‘Biborton’ in 2001 and ‘Notun Diner Michhile’ in 2002, which featured the longest song in Bangladeshi rock history. In 2003, Aurthohin released the commercially successful album ‘Dhrubok,’ and in 2004, frontman Sumon received a prestigious affiliation from Michael Tobias Design.
Aurthohin continues to push creative boundaries, with ‘Phoenixer Diary 2’ announced for release in 2025. This upcoming album is set to build on the success of its predecessor, promising further collaborations with international artists and a continued evolution of their distinctive sound.
