Babasonicos is an Argentine rock band known for their consistent musical evolution and commercial success since the early 1990s, earning them multiple awards and nominations. After establishing themselves in the early 1990s as a pioneering force in the Argentine New Rock wave, Babasonicos, founded by lead singer Adrián ‘Dárgelos’ Rodríguez and keyboardist Diego ‘Uma-T’ Tuñón, alongside Diego ‘Uma’ Rodríguez (guitarist and lead singer), Diego ‘Panza’ Castellano (drummer), Mariano ‘Roger’ Domínguez (guitarist), and Gabriel ‘Gabo’ Manelli (bassist), released their second album, ‘Trance Zomba,’ in 1994, which saw the incorporation of DJ ‘DJ Peggyn’ into the lineup until 1999. A significant international milestone occurred in 1999 when the band collaborated with Ian Brown on a song for his critically acclaimed album ‘Golden Greats.’ The early 2000s marked a period of substantial critical and commercial ascent, beginning with their 2001 album ‘Jessico,’ which garnered a Latin Grammy Award nomination in 2002 for Best Rock Album by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and delivered mainstream hits including ‘Los Calientes,’ ‘El Loco,’ and ‘Deléctrico.’ Building on this momentum, Babasonicos continued their prolific output with a string of critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, including ‘Infame’ (2003), ‘Anoche’ (2005), and ‘Mucho’ (2008).
