Beartooth

Beartooth was founded in 2012 by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Shomo in Columbus, Ohio. Initially, Shomo recorded all instruments in the studio for the project, which was first called Noise before being renamed Beartooth. The band was named after Bear Tooth Court, where original touring bassist Nick Reed grew up. Shomo did not initially intend for Beartooth to be a live act, but after leaving his previous band, Attack Attack!, he committed to the project full-time. He then recruited Nick Reed, Taylor Lumley, and Brandon Mullins for live performances. The band signed with Red Bull Records in 2013.

Beartooth released their debut EP, “Sick,” in July 2013, with Shomo handling all instruments and production. This was followed by their debut full-length album, “Disgusting,” in June 2014. The group has since released additional studio albums, including “Aggressive” (2016), “Disease” (2018), “Below” (2021), and “The Surface” (2023). Throughout their career, Beartooth has toured extensively, participating in events like the Vans Warped Tour in 2013 and 2015, and headlining tours in North America and the UK. The band has experienced several lineup changes over the years, with current members including Oshie Bichar on bass, Connor Denis on drums, Zach Huston on lead guitar, and Will Deely on rhythm guitar.

Key achievements include winning the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Breakthrough Band in 2016 and the Loudwire Music Awards for Best Rock Album (“Aggressive”) and Best Rock Video (“Aggressive”) in the same year. In 2017, they received the Loudwire Music Award for Breakthrough Band of the Year and in 2022, the Heavy Music Award for Best International Artist. These recognitions highlight Beartooth’s impact in the rock music scene and their consistent output of critically recognized music.
