Dodie has evolved from a prominent YouTube personality into a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and author, establishing a significant presence in music and literature. After cultivating a global following through her main YouTube channel ‘doddleoddle,’ launched in February 2011 and garnering millions of subscribers and hundreds of millions of views with her original songs and cover versions, Dodie quickly established herself as a significant independent artist, releasing her first video ‘Rain’ the same year. This online success laid the groundwork for her transition into a critically acclaimed recording artist and author. Dodie launched her Vevo channel ‘dodieVEVO’ in 2016, the same year she released her debut extended play (EP), ‘Intertwined,’ which achieved commercial success by charting at number 35 on the official UK Albums Chart in November 2016.
That same year, she served as a guest composer for the acclaimed TV show Final Space. She followed this with her fourth EP, ‘Hot Mess,’ released in 2022. Diversifying her artistic work, Dodie co-founded the indie pop supergroup Fizz in 2023, releasing their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘The Secret to Life,’ that same year. Her collaborative spirit was also evident in 2023 with her feature on ‘Call Me Wild’ with Cory Wong.
Looking ahead, Dodie announced her second solo album, ‘Not For Lack of Trying,’ slated for release in October 2025, underscoring her consistent output and artistic development. She is also set to record a cover of ‘Old Devil Moon’ for the Chet Baker Re:imagined tribute album, scheduled for release in 2025.
