Block B has risen from a unique hip-hop concept to a globally recognized K-pop group, consistently delivering impactful music and performances. After debuting their single ‘Freeze!’ in April 2011, Block B rapidly established themselves as a dynamic K-pop septet, making their live debut on KBS’s Music Bank the same month. Formed by musician Cho PD with a vision for a unique hip-hop concept, the group quickly followed with their mini-album New Kids on the Block in June 2011. Their early career showcased their distinct blend of hip-hop and K-pop, prominently featured in their appearances on MTV’s Match Up!
Their sixth mini-album, Montage, followed in 2017, concurrent with another successful European tour and a significant partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. In 2018, all members except Zico renewed their contracts with Seven Seasons, ushering in a period during which members fulfilled mandatory military enlistments, including Jaehyo (2018), Taeil (2019), B-Bomb (2019), U-Kwon (2020), and Zico (2020) for public service. Members were formally discharged between 2021 and 2023, with P.O signing with Artist Company in 2021. Signaling a highly anticipated return, Block B performed as a full group on the KBS 2TV show ‘The Seasons – Zico’s Artist’ in 2024, marking a new chapter for the globally recognized K-pop act.
