Buika’s breakthrough came with her critically acclaimed album Mi Niña Lola in 2006, which earned her a Disco de Oro, the Best Spanish Song Album at the Premios de la Musica, and the Germany Visual Critics Award in 2007. This pivotal project was the first in a trilogy produced by Javier Limón, followed by Niña de Fuego (2008) and El Ultimo Trago (2009). The impactful El Ultimo Trago, featuring collaborations with Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés, won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Album in 2010 and received a Disco de Oro in Colombia the same year.
A globally recognized artist, Buika has toured extensively across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Africa, performing as both a solo artist and with large orchestral ensembles, solidifying her reputation as a formidable live performer.
