Chase Atlantic formed in 2014 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, consisting of brothers Mitchel and Clinton Cave, and Christian Anthony. Before forming Chase Atlantic, Christian Anthony and Mitchel Cave were part of the boy band “What About Tonight,” which participated in season 4 of The X Factor Australia in 2012. Clinton Cave maintained a successful YouTube channel, “ClintonCaveMusic,” where the brothers released cover songs. In 2013, they performed together as K.I.D.S. (Kind Imaginations, Destructive Situations) and released their original song “Addicted.” The trio officially began releasing music as Chase Atlantic after Clinton Cave involved his brothers in a university project. Their first EP, “Dalliance,” was released on May 26, 2014, showcasing an early sound described as Pop Rock and Pop Punk. In February 2015, they released their second EP, “Nostalgia,” featuring the song “Friends,” which later received Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 2022.
In early 2016, Chase Atlantic signed with MDDN, a management company founded by Benji and Joel Madden. They released their third EP, “Paradise,” in February 2016. In January 2017, the band signed with Warner Bros. Records and released “Part One,” followed by “Part Two” in March and “Part Three” in September. Their self-titled debut album, “Chase Atlantic,” was released in October 2017. The band embarked on their first U.S. tour supporting Sleeping with Sirens and later an Australian tour supporting Blackbear. “Swim” became their first song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify on March 13, 2025. In 2018, they continued touring, opening for Lights and playing at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Vans Warped Tour, and Reading/Leeds Festival. They released singles “Numb to the Feeling” and “Tidal Wave” and subsequently left Warner Bros. Records to become independent.
From January to April 2019, the group worked on their second album, “Phases,” released on June 28, 2019, supported by the Phases Tour: North America. Singles “Her,” “StuckInMyBrain,” and “Love Is (Not) Easy” preceded the album. In 2020, they began working on their third studio album, “Beauty in Death,” released on March 5, 2021. This period also included a collaboration with Plvtinum on “Hit My Line” and the ‘Beauty in Death’ North American tour. A deluxe edition of “Beauty in Death” was announced on May 2, 2022. After a hiatus, Chase Atlantic returned in 2023 with the single “Mamacita.” Their fourth studio album, “Lost in Heaven,” was released on November 1, 2024, with singles “Die for Me,” “Doubt It,” and “Ricochet.” A deluxe edition, “Lost in Heaven (High as Hell),” featuring additional tracks and collaborations, is set for release on October 3, 2025, with an accompanying concert film documenting their O2 Arena performance.
