Caitlin Rose, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, emerged in the late 2000s, cultivating a unique sound that merged traditional country music structures with elements of pop, indie rock, and anti-folk. Her musical inclinations were initially developed within Nashville’s DIY circles, rather than through her family’s music industry background, which included an industry executive father and a Grammy-winning songwriter mother. Rose deliberately kept her initial musical efforts private, later combining diverse influences into her distinctive style. This approach, while initially requiring her to define her genre to the industry, eventually garnered international attention, particularly in the U.K., and positioned her as an artist who contributed to the evolving sound of contemporary country and indie scenes.

Her debut album, “Own Side Now,” released around the early 2010s, showcased her blend of crystalline melancholy and independent spirit, with its title track becoming emblematic of her artistic stance. Rose continued to evolve her sound, releasing her second album, “The Stand-In,” in 2013, which she co-produced with Jordan Lehning, a collaborator who understood her artistic humor and vision. After a nine-year break, Rose re-emerged with her album “CAZIMI” in 2022. Co-produced with Lehning, this album signifies her return to recording, marked by a more mature and reflective lyrical approach, while retaining her signature pop sensibilities. “CAZIMI” reflects her journey through personal and professional challenges, translating them into songs that explore themes of lessons, letdowns, and resilience.
