Carl Cox

Carl Cox is a renowned British house and techno DJ, radio DJ, and record producer whose career has spanned over three decades. He began his journey in music at the age of 15 as a mobile DJ, quickly rising to prominence in the 1980s as a mainstage DJ within the electronica scene. Cox became a pivotal figure in the British rave movement, known for his innovative three-deck mixing technique and his performances at iconic events like Danny Rampling’s Shoom night. His debut single, “I Want You (Forever),” released in the early 1990s, marked the beginning of a successful production career that would see him embrace and shape the techno genre.

Cox’s illustrious career includes a celebrated residency at Space Ibiza from 2001 to 2016, where he hosted the acclaimed “Music is Revolution” nights. His ability to curate lineups that balanced emerging talent with established names solidified his reputation as a leading figure in the Ibiza club scene. Additionally, he has created the “Carl Cox & Friends” stage at major festivals like Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland, providing a platform for both himself and other artists to showcase their talents.

In addition to his DJing, Cox is a successful label owner, having founded Intec Records in 1998 and later relaunching it as Intec Digital. In 2018, he established Awesome Soundwave, focusing on live electronic music artists. His commitment to nurturing new talent is evident in his various projects, including the Pure festival series and his involvement in the Burning Man festival.
