Collabro, a UK-based musical theatre group, rose to fame as the winners of the eighth series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. Formed in January of that year, the group consisted of Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan, Thomas J. Redgrave, and Richard Hadfield. Their journey began with a standing ovation during their audition, where they performed “Stars” from Les Misérables, impressing judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams. This performance set the stage for their remarkable ascent in the music industry.
Following their victory, Collabro signed a record deal with Syco Music and released their debut album, “Stars,” on August 15, 2014, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Their subsequent albums, including “Act Two” and “Home,” showcased their versatility and commitment to musical theatre, with each album achieving significant chart success. The group also embarked on multiple tours, including their debut tour that sold 50,000 tickets and culminated in a headliner show at The London Palladium.
In 2016, after the departure of Richard Hadfield, Collabro continued to thrive, releasing their third album, “Home,” under their own label, Peak Productions. This album marked a return to their musical theatre roots, featuring stage classics and their first original song. Their fourth album, “Road to the Royal Albert Hall,” and fifth album, “Love Like This,” further solidified their status in the industry, with successful tours and performances across the UK and beyond.
Despite announcing their disbandment in August 2022, Collabro left a lasting legacy in the musical theatre scene. Their final album, “Be Still My Soul,” released in October 2022, encapsulated their journey and the impact they made on their fans, affectionately known as “Collaborators.” With a remarkable career spanning nearly a decade, Collabro’s contributions to music and theatre continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
