Amble signed a recording contract with Warner Records, distributed their debut album 'Reverie', live album 'Live from Dublin', and EPs like 'Live EP', 'Of Land and Sea', 'The Commons', and 'Hand Me Downs' through the label.
Amble, an Irish folk band, was established in 2022 by Robbie Cunningham and Oisín McCaffrey. The initial objective of the duo was to perform cover songs in pubs to gain complimentary refreshments. The lineup expanded with the addition of Ross McNerney, recognized for his proficiency with the mandolin and banjo. Following a concert held in Leitrim, McNerney proposed that the ensemble pursue music professionally, evolving from their casual beginnings. At the time of this decision, each member held distinct professional roles: McCaffrey was employed as a data scientist and programmer at Pfizer, Cunningham worked as a primary school teacher in Terenure, and McNerney was a secondary school teacher.
By 2024, all three members had resigned from their respective professions after signing a recording contract with Warner Records. This significant career turning point was encapsulated by Cunningham’s father’s advice, “throw the trout out to catch the salmon,” a phrase that resonated with the band and subsequently appeared on their official merchandise. In 2025, Amble further advanced their career by joining Hozier’s Unreal Unearth Tour, serving as an opening act for several North American dates in cities such as Boston, Massachusetts; Casper, Wyoming; and Toronto, Ontario. Their debut album, ‘Reverie,’ released on May 23, 2025, achieved commercial success, topping the Irish Albums Chart for four non-consecutive weeks and reaching position 48 on the UK Albums Chart. The band’s music has accumulated over 115 million streams globally, demonstrating their widespread appeal.
