Darius Rucker

Darius Rucker has transitioned from rock superstar to a Grammy-winning country music artist, while also dedicating significant efforts to philanthropy and sports business. After co-founding Hootie & the Blowfish in 1986 with Mark Bryan, Jim ‘Soni’ Sonefeld, and Dean Felber, Darius Rucker achieved multi-platinum success with their 1994 debut album, ‘Cracked Rear View.’ He demonstrated his versatile talent early on, singing the national anthem at the World Series in 1995, and later released his R&B debut solo album, ‘Back to Then,’ in 2002. In 2008, Rucker made a significant transition, signing with Capitol Nashville and debuting as a country music artist. His 2008 country debut album, ‘Learn to Live,’ featured the hit single ‘Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,’ which reached number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Rucker is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023. His memoir, ‘Life’s Too Short: A Memoir,’ will be published in 2024. In 2025, Rucker plans to relocate to London to increase his UK touring presence, including a performance at the Royal Albert Hall for Opry 100.
