Duffy, a Welsh singer and actress, gained international recognition for her soulful vocal style and significant contributions to contemporary music. After finishing second in the Welsh television talent show Wawffactor in 2003, Duffy released a three-song Welsh extended play titled ‘Aimée Duffy’ in 2004, which later achieved chart success.
