Dekker

Dekker established his distinct musical presence by co-founding the Anglo-American indie folk band Rue Royale in 2006. The band released their debut EP, ‘The Search for Where to Go,’ in January 2007, garnering initial acclaim. Demonstrating strong international appeal, Rue Royale embarked on their first European tour in 2008, performing 31 concerts across six countries. This success subsequently led to their relocation to the UK, facilitating expanded and full-time European touring commitments.

By 2010, Rue Royale released the collaborative ‘Wapping Press Session EP’ with Paul Pilot, further solidifying their sound before their self-recorded second album, ‘Guide to an Escape,’ followed in 2011. A pivotal career moment arrived in 2012 when acclaimed artist J. Cole sampled Rue Royale’s track ‘Flightline’ in his song ‘Miss America.’ This track was featured on J. Cole’s highly successful ‘Born Sinner’ album, which notably charted on the Billboard 200, drawing significant new attention to Dekker’s work.

He is also developing a distinctive children’s music project, focused on creating engaging and educational songs for young listeners, further demonstrating his versatile artistic range and commitment to creative output across different platforms.
