Xana Morris was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and was raised in a music-oriented family on Vancouver Island. Her early musical education included violin lessons at age 5 and vocal lessons at age 10. In 2015, Xana formed an acoustic pop-punk duo called Coffee Eyes with Joel Cossette. Following the disbandment of the duo, she pursued a two-year educational program, after which she began working to financially support her musical aspirations. She composed her third solo single, ‘Tipsy,’ during this transitional period between schooling and employment. She continued to write music for two years before starting to record in 2020.
Xana released her debut solo single, ‘Goddess,’ in 2020, intending it as a foundational statement articulating her artistic identity within the music industry. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Xana primarily utilized TikTok for music promotion.
