About

Xana Morris was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and was raised in a music-oriented family on Vancouver Island. Her early musical education included violin lessons at age 5 and vocal lessons at age 10. In 2015, Xana formed an acoustic pop-punk duo called Coffee Eyes with Joel Cossette. Following the disbandment of the duo, she pursued a two-year educational program, after which she began working to financially support her musical aspirations. She composed her third solo single, ‘Tipsy,’ during this transitional period between schooling and employment. She continued to write music for two years before starting to record in 2020.

Xana released her debut solo single, ‘Goddess,’ in 2020, intending it as a foundational statement articulating her artistic identity within the music industry. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Xana primarily utilized TikTok for music promotion. She subsequently released singles including ‘Pray,’ ‘Tipsy,’ ‘Yellow,’ and ‘Kitchen Light.’ In 2021, Xana collaborated with the indie band Cold Fame on their debut single ‘tuesday.’ which was released in November of that year.

Her debut album, ‘Tantrums,’ was released on April 15, 2022, featuring autobiographical narratives reflecting experiences in a challenging relationship. The album gained positive attention, with its opening track being recognized among significant queer songs of April. The music video for ‘Kitchen Light’ garnered over one million views on YouTube. In November 2022, she released the acoustic single ‘bet you’ll get off on this.’ The year 2023 saw the release of singles ‘Bad Bandit,’ a Western-influenced track, and ‘babyblue,’ which explored themes of lost childhood friendships. In 2024, Xana released her second album, ‘The Sex Was Good Until It Wasn’t,’ supported by singles ‘Better Kind Of Best Friend,’ ‘Homewrecking Era,’ and ‘Monster.’ She embarked on a United States tour in the summer of 2024 and announced the ‘Until It Wasn’t Tour’ for 2025, with strong demand leading to venue upgrades in the UK for her 2026 leg.
