Grammy-nominated ensemble DeVotchKa first garnered widespread critical acclaim for their distinctive musical contributions to the 2006 road movie ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack. Comprised of Nick Urata (vocals, guitar, theremin, bouzouki, piano, trumpet), Tom Hagerman (violin, accordion, piano), Jeanie Schroder (sousaphone, double bass, backing vocals, flute), and Shawn King (drums, percussion, trumpet), DeVotchKa cultivated an underground following through nationwide tours, including performances as a backing band for burlesque shows and touring with performer Dita Von Teese. This period saw the release of early self-produced records such as SuperMelodrama (2000), Triple X Tango (2002), Una Volta (2003), and How It Ends (2004). Their song ‘How It Ends’ gained significant traction, featured in the trailer for ‘Everything Is Illuminated’, a 2008 ‘Gears of War 2’ trailer, and an episode of ‘Everwood’, which propelled it to Number 101 on the UK Singles Charts.

DeVotchKa released their most recent studio album, This Night Falls Forever, in 2018 through Concord Records. Their dynamic live performances have included supporting Muse at Stade de France in 2010 and a notable appearance at the Bonnaroo music festival in 2006, captivating diverse audiences across major stages with their unique blend of gypsy punk, dark cabaret, indie folk, and gothic country.
