Healy

Ethan Healy, known professionally as Healy, was born in Memphis, TN in 1993. He developed an early interest in music, teaching himself guitar and experimenting with acoustic and hip-hop sounds. While pursuing a degree in physical therapy at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Healy released his debut EP, “A Galaxy with Skin,” in 2015. His unique sound garnered attention, notably with the release of the dreamy single “Reckless” from his 2017 debut album, “Subluxe.” He successfully managed to cultivate his musical career alongside his academic pursuits, ultimately graduating in 2018.

Following his graduation, Healy continued to evolve his musical style, transitioning towards more R&B-influenced sounds. He released the single “Tucson” in 2019. The year 2020 saw him consistently releasing new tracks, which culminated in his sophomore full-length album, “Tungsten,” in 2021. After a brief hiatus, Healy returned in 2023 with new music, including the single “2D” and a collaboration with Cautious Clay titled “Famous Last Words.” His career demonstrates a steady progression from a local artist balancing multiple vocations to a recognized figure in alternative hip-hop and R&B.
