Donavon Frankenreiter

Donavon Frankenreiter was born on December 10, 1972, in Downey, California. His early career was defined by his athleticism, becoming a professional surfer at the age of 16. While pursuing surfing, Frankenreiter also developed his musical skills, which eventually led to a career transition into the music industry.

In 2004, Frankenreiter released his self-titled debut album on Brushfire Records through Universal Music. This marked a significant turning point, establishing him as a musical artist. Following this, he toured extensively, including a notable Brazilian tour in November 2007 as part of the Mostra Alma Surf Festival, where he shared stages with artists such as Animal Liberation Orchestra and G. Love. In 2007, he released “Recycled Recipes”, an acoustic EP of cover songs, followed by the full-length album “Pass It Around” in 2008. During the “Pass It Around” tour, he collaborated with surf artist Jay Alders for a limited edition tour poster, demonstrating his ability to integrate his passions for music and surf culture.

A key career progression occurred in 2010 when Frankenreiter founded his own label, Liquid Tambourine Records. This strategic move allowed him greater creative control, leading to the release of his fourth studio album, “Glow”, produced by Mark Weinberg, that same year. Throughout his career, Frankenreiter has released multiple albums and EPs, consistently engaging his fanbase. He has also been involved in brand partnerships aligned with his lifestyle, including Sanuk Footwear, and currently serves as a brand ambassador for Flying Embers. In 2024, he is set to release “Get Outta Your Mind”, marking the 20th anniversary of his debut album.
