Dylan Gossett, born on March 11, 1999, in Austin, Texas, is an American country singer-songwriter. His early musical journey began in middle school, influenced by artists like Ed Sheeran. Gossett initially learned to play guitar from his brother and through YouTube tutorials. He pursued higher education at Texas A&M University, graduating in 2021. Following his graduation, he completed an internship with F1 in event operations and logistics at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, where he later secured a full-time position. His career trajectory shifted when he started posting covers and original songs on TikTok, which quickly gained traction. These early online performances laid the groundwork for his breakthrough into the music industry.
Gossett’s independent release of “To Be Free” in June 2023 marked his official debut as a recording artist. This was followed by his breakout single, “Coal,” released independently on July 27, 2023. “Coal” achieved significant success, charting on the Billboard Hot 100, the U.S. country chart, and international single charts in the UK, Canada, and Ireland. The song’s success led to Gossett leaving his position at the Circuit of the Americas to focus entirely on his music career. He continued to build on this momentum with the release of “Beneath Oak Trees” in October 2023, a song inspired by his marriage earlier that year. His debut EP, “No Better Time,” was released on October 27, 2023, showcasing his songwriting and production abilities. In November 2023, Gossett signed with Big Loud Texas/Mercury Records, marking a significant step in his professional music career.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Gossett continued an active release schedule and touring. He released the EP “Songs in the Gravel” in March 2024 and embarked on both American and European tours, including supporting Noah Kahan. His debut album, “Westward,” was released on July 18, 2025, featuring 17 self-written and self-produced tracks. The album debuted at No. 114 on the Billboard 200 and No. 24 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Gossett has sold over 72,000 headline tickets in 2024 and has performed at major festivals such as Stagecoach Festival, SXSW, and CMA Fest. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut and has supported artists like Morgan Wallen.
