Talented Eden Hason is one of the new leading lights of Israeli Mizrahi music. Since the release of his first single, ‘Shemishehu Yaatzor Ori’, in 2018, he has gone from strength to strength, growing a huge audience for his sensitive, acoustic-guitar led songs. His debut album, also called Shemishehu Yaatzor Ori, was released to rave reviews in 2019. He has built up a huge social media following, with three-quarters of a million subscribers across Instagram and YouTube alone. His videos have been watched an incredible 356 million times, and his 2021 single, ‘Gadal Li Ktzat Zakan’, was streamed and viewed more than half a million times within 48 hours of its release, signalling that Hason is a huge talent with an ever-growing fanbase.
Hason hails from Pardes Hanna-Karkur in Israel, where he was born in 1994. After completing his mandatory military service, which he performed as part of the Israeli Air Force, he began working on building his reputation as a musician and songwriter. He almost immediately hit the jackpot with ‘Shemishehu Yaatzor Ori’, which was both a huge hit and the winner of the Society of Authors, Composers, and Music Publishers Israel’s Song of the Year Award, giving him the rare balance of popular and critical acclaim.
Hason’s other major hits have included ‘Yeladim Kaele’, ‘Shikorim’, ‘Mitpotzetz Li Harosh’, and ‘Kapiyot’, proving that the well of his inspiration runs deep. And with so much success and such a prolific output in such a short space of time, it seems like the sky’s the limit for Eden Hason.
