Edie Brickell is a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter known for her musical versatility and compelling live performances. After signing a recording contract and forming Edie Brickell & New Bohemians in 1985, Edie Brickell went on to achieve significant critical and commercial success with the bands 1988 debut album, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars. The album reached No. 4 on the Billboard albums chart and earned double-platinum certification, featuring the Top Ten single ‘What I Am,’ which climbed to number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts the same year.

In 2010, Brickell co-founded the band The Gaddabouts, featuring drummer Steve Gadd, releasing two albums with the group. In 2011, Brickell penned the title track for the film Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life. Her significant collaborations continued in 2013 with the acclaimed album Love Has Come for You, a partnership with Steve Martin that led to a successful North American tour alongside Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. This fruitful artistic relationship further evolved with the 2015 album So Familiar and culminated in the 2016 musical Bright Star, for which Brickell co-wrote the music, lyrics, and story, opening on Broadway.

More recently, Brickell has continued her prolific output and collaborations. In 2017, she and Steve Martin were featured in the documentary film The American Epic Sessions, where they recorded ‘The Coo Coo Bird’ using a 1920s electrical sound recording system. Edie Brickell & New Bohemians released two additional albums, Rocket in 2018 and Hunter and the Dog Star in 2021. In 2023, Brickell became a founding vocalist for the band Heavy MakeUp, which released its self-titled debut album that same year, followed by Here It Comes in 2024, showcasing her ongoing musical versatility.
