Flatland Cavalry, originating from Lubbock, Texas, embodies the essence of modern Americana and country music with their soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Founded in 2012 by Cleto Cordero and Jason Albers, former college roommates from Midland, the band found its full lineup by 2014 with Jonathan Saenz, Reid Dillon, and violinist Laura Jane, later succeeded by Wesley Hall in 2018.
In 2015, Flatland Cavalry made their mark with the release of their debut EP “Come May,” funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign that underscored their growing fan base’s dedication. This milestone paved the way for their critically acclaimed first full-length album, “Humble Folks,” released in 2016. Praised for its authentic storytelling and musical depth, the album drew comparisons to esteemed acts like the Turnpike Troubadours, achieving chart success on both Billboard’s Americana/Folk and Country Albums charts.
Continuing their journey, Flatland Cavalry released their sophomore album, “Homeland Insecurity,” in 2019, further solidifying their place in the Americana scene. Their evolution continues with their latest offering, “Wandering Star,” released in 2023 under Interscope Records. Featuring 13 original tracks and a collaboration with Kaitlin Butts, the album exemplifies their growth and commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional country and Americana music.
Flatland Cavalry remains synonymous with authenticity, capturing audiences with their compelling narratives and dynamic performances that resonate with listeners across the country.
