About

Florence Ellen Arnold, professionally known as Florrie, was born on December 28, 1988, in Bristol, England. Her musical journey began at a young age, developing an interest in drums at six and later forming her own band, Fi Fi Saloon, performing covers and original songs. At 17, Florrie moved to London, playing gigs with various bands, including Selfservice, which had a development deal with songwriter Guy Chambers. Her early career also involved working part-time as a nanny before a significant turning point led her to audition for Xenomania, a prominent Kent-based production team. She joined Xenomania as their in-house drummer in 2008.

At Xenomania, Florrie contributed her drumming and drum programming skills to tracks for acclaimed artists such as Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud, and Pet Shop Boys. She played on Girls Aloud’s 2008 single “The Promise” and co-wrote their 2012 single “Something New,” as well as “One Touch” for Mini Viva and “What Are You Waiting For?” for The Saturdays. Encouraged by Xenomania producer Brian Higgins to explore her songwriting and vocal talents, Florrie launched her solo career in 2010. She gained positive attention for releasing her self-produced material online for free, collaborating with remixers like Fred Falke. Her early independent EPs, including “Introduction” (2010), “Experiments” (2011), and “Late” (2012), showcased her pop-synth and dance-pop style, earning praise from music blogs.

In 2014, Florrie signed with Sony Music, releasing the EP “Sirens” and the single “Little White Lies.” However, creative differences led to her departure from the major label. She re-emerged as an independent artist in 2019 with singles like “Borderline” and “Unstable,” leading to the compilation album “Personal” in 2023. Her long-awaited debut album, “The Lost Ones,” was released on June 14, 2024, debuting at number 36 in the UK, followed by the single “Swimming Pool” in August 2024. As of 2025, Florrie continues to write new music for a second album, dividing her time between London, Brighton, and Bristol.
