Dappy, lead singer of the Camden-based hip hop and grime trio N-Dubz, has established a solo career in music, releasing solo albums and singles. After gaining significant recognition as the lead singer of the Camden-based hip hop and grime trio N-Dubz in the early 2000s, Dappy established his distinctive presence in the music industry. The group secured early success with appearances on television shows like Never Mind the Buzzcocks starting in 2007, the same year their track ‘Love for My Slum’ with Baker Trouble hit number one on Channel U. Dappy also made notable cameo appearances in music videos for other artists, including K.I.G.’s ‘Head, Shoulders, Kneez and Toez,’ Gracious K’s ‘Migraine Skank,’ and Chipmunk’s ‘Chip Diddy Chip.’ In 2009, N-Dubz further solidified their impact with the hit single ‘Number 1’ alongside Tinchy Stryder.

He expanded his collaborative footprint in 2019 with the track ‘Not Today’ alongside Tory Lanez. Dappy unveiled his second solo album, Fortune, in 2021, marking another significant milestone in his independent career. Beyond his solo work, Dappy has also been recognized as a co-writer for other artists, including Katy Perry, and was instrumental in N-Dubz’s collaboration with Take That’s Gary Barlow. He has recorded across multiple prestigious labels, including Polydor, Def Jam, Island Records, AATW, Takeover Ent, and EMI.
