Cindy Lynn Bradley, born on December 11, 1977, in North Tonawanda, New York, began her musical journey with the piano before selecting the trumpet at age nine. Her early immersion in traditional jazz continued through her academic career, leading her to earn degrees in jazz studies from Ithaca College and jazz trumpet performance from the New England Conservatory. These foundational years were instrumental in shaping her distinctive style.
Bradley officially launched her recording career with her debut album, “Just a Little Bit,” in 2007, released independently. Her career gained significant momentum when she signed with Trippin’ N’ Rhythm Records in 2009, leading to her second album, “Bloom.” This was followed by “Unscripted” in 2011, an album that spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. The lead single “Massive Transit,” co-written with Grammy Award-winning producer Michael Broening, held the #1 position on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Songs chart for six consecutive weeks. Her commitment to music also extends to education, as she works as a public elementary school band teacher in New Jersey when not performing. She has released several subsequent albums, including “Bliss” (2014), “Natural” (2017), “The Little Things” (2019), and “Promise” (2023).
Throughout her career, Bradley has consistently achieved recognition for her contributions to jazz. She has accumulated ten #1 singles on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Singles Chart, with her latest, “A Little Moxie,” reaching the top in 2025. Her numerous accolades include “New Artist of the Year” and “Brass Player of the Year” at the Contemporary Jazz Awards, “Best New Artist” at the American Smooth Jazz Awards, and “Debut Artist of the Year” at the Catalina Jazztrax Festival in 2009. Jazziz Magazine also recognized “Unscripted” as its Critic’s Choice of the Year in 2011.
