Frank Ray

Francisco Gomez, known professionally as Frank Ray, was born on January 8, 1987, in Deming, New Mexico. His early life was marked by moves between New Mexico and Texas, exposing him to both country and ranchera music. From 2007 to 2017, Ray served as a police officer in Las Cruces, New Mexico, pursuing his passion for music on weekends. During this period, he experienced regional success on the Texas country charts, which eventually led him to leave his law enforcement career to focus entirely on music. This turning point allowed him to fully commit to his artistic endeavors and pursue a national career in country music.

In 2018, Frank Ray released his EP titled “Different Kind of Country” and began opening for established artists such as Ashley McBryde. His unique blend of country and Latin influences caught the attention of industry professionals. In 2021, he signed with BBR Music Group/Stoney Creek Records, a significant milestone in his career. His debut single “Country’d Look Good on You” was released later that year and features both English and Spanish lyrics, showcasing his bilingual artistry. This single went on to chart in the top 20 of the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2022.

Frank Ray’s career continued to progress with his Grand Ole Opry debut in January 2022, a notable achievement for any country artist. He has since released additional singles, including “Somebody Else’s Whiskey” (2023), “Uh-Huh (Ajá)” (2024), and “Miami in Tennessee” (2025). Ray has also toured extensively, supporting artists like Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, and Old Dominion, further establishing his presence in the country music scene. His commitment to authenticity and diverse musical influences has defined his journey from a police officer to a recognized country music singer.
