Fridayy

Francis Leblanc, known professionally as Fridayy, is an American singer and rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His musical career began at an early age, playing instruments such as piano, bass, and guitar from the age of six. His father, a pastor, influenced his early exposure to music through church activities. He began taking music seriously at 14 when introduced to production by his cousin, Marco, which enabled him to produce and record his own music easily. He adopted the stage name “Fridayy,” drawing inspiration from artists like The Weeknd and PartyNextDoor. His early musical influences included Boyz II Men, Drake, and Kanye West.

Fridayy gained significant recognition in 2022. He contributed as a songwriter and producer to Chris Brown’s album, “Breezy,” on the track “Till the Wheels Fall Off.” In October 2022, he released his debut single, “Don’t Give Up On Me,” preceding his initial EP, “Lost in Melody.” During the same month, he was featured on Lil Baby’s album, “It’s Only Me,” on the song “Forever,” which charted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut extended play, “Lost in Melody,” released in October 2022, included a collaboration with singer Vory. By the end of 2022, Fridayy signed with Def Jam Recordings, marking a significant step in his career.

In November 2022, Fridayy received three Grammy Award nominations for his feature on DJ Khaled’s song “God Did,” alongside artists such as Jay-Z, John Legend, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne. This track appeared on DJ Khaled’s album “God Did” (2022) and performed well on the Billboard Hot 100. In June 2023, he released “Don’t Give It Away,” featuring Chris Brown, as the lead single for his self-titled debut studio album, “Fridayy,” which was released on August 25, 2023. The album featured the single “When It Comes to You,” which became his first entry on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist and later achieved platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2024, Fridayy supported Buju Banton on “The Overcomer Tour.” He released his second studio album, “Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not,” in February 2025, which included the Billboard Hot 100-charting song “Proud of Me” with Meek Mill, and reached number 51 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
