From Ashes To New formed in 2013 in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, with Matt Brandyberry as the founding member. Early in their career, the band released their debut single, “My Fight,” followed by an eponymous extended play. In 2015, they released a second extended play, “Downfall,” which preceded their debut album. The band’s debut album, “Day One,” was released on February 26, 2016, and included singles such as “Through It All,” which reached number 6 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. A deluxe edition of “Day One” was released digitally in November 2016, featuring new tracks and an acoustic version of “Lost and Alone.”
In December 2016, From Ashes To New began working on their second studio album. Over the next year, the band experienced lineup changes, with Tim D’onofrio and Chris Musser departing in March 2017. Mat Madiro, formerly of Trivium, joined as the new drummer, and Danny Case was announced as the new lead singer in July 2017. This new lineup released the single “Crazy” on February 1, 2018, leading up to their second album, “The Future,” which debuted at number 163 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band’s career progression also includes collaborations with other artists and their music being featured in media beyond traditional music platforms.
From Ashes To New has continued to release music, including subsequent albums “Panic” (2020) and “Blackout” (2023). These albums have produced successful singles like “Panic,” which peaked at number 11 on the Mainstream Rock chart. The band has also engaged in collaborative projects, such as a remixed version of The Hu’s “Yuve Yuve Yu” in 2019 and a partnership with CFO$ for the WWE 205 Live theme song “Hail the Crown.” Their work consistently integrates elements of nu metal, rap metal, and alternative metal, demonstrating their distinct musical style and ongoing presence in contemporary rock.
