Froy Gutierrez

Froylán Gutierrez was born on April 27, 1998, in Highland Park, Texas, and raised in Dallas. He attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, focusing on theatre. His career in acting began in 2015 after an agent observed him in a local play, leading him to submit audition tapes. Gutierrez is of Mexican descent and grew up bilingual, proficient in both English and Spanish.

Gutierrez made his television debut in 2015 as Charlie in Nickelodeon’s “Bella and the Bulldogs.” He gained further recognition for his recurring role as Nolan Holloway in the final season of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” in 2017. The same year, he also appeared in the first season of “One Day at a Time.” In 2018, he released his debut single, “Sideswipe,” marking his entry into the music industry. He later contributed his voice as a narrator for the audiobook versions of Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera’s young adult novels, “What If It’s Us” (2018) and its sequel “Here’s To Us” (2022).

His career advanced with a series regular role as Jamie Henson in Freeform’s teen drama “Cruel Summer” in 2021, spanning 10 episodes. Gutierrez also transitioned into film with appearances in the 2020 slasher film “Initiation,” and a notable role as Mike in “Hocus Pocus 2” in 2022. In 2023, he took on the role of Ryan in “The Strangers: Chapter 1,” which is part of an intended standalone trilogy, with “The Strangers: Chapter 2” also featuring him as Ryan in 2025. He is also slated for the upcoming TV series “I Love LA” and the feature film “This Is Not a Test” in 2025.
