Fuerza Regida, formed in San Bernardino, California, in 2015, began as a cover band before evolving into one of the most influential groups in música mexicana. The group consists of Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP) on lead vocals, Samuel Jáimez on backing vocals and 12-string guitar, Khrystian Ramos on rhythm guitar, José “Pelón” García on sousaphone, and Moisés López, who joined in 2022, on tololoche. Their early days involved uploading videos to YouTube, where they gained a following and eventually caught the attention of Ramón Ruiz, leading to a contract with Lumbre Music and Rancho Humilde. Their first full-length release was the live album “En Vivo Puros Corridos” in 2018. The band’s breakthrough came that same year with the viral hit “Radicamos en South Central,” which amassed over 150 million plays on Spotify.
Fuerza Regida’s career progression has seen numerous achievements, including their debut studio album “Del Barrio Hasta Aquí” (2019) reaching the top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart and number one on the Regional Mexican Albums chart. They have consistently achieved chart-topping success with albums such as “Adicto” (2020), “Pa Que Hablen” (2022), “Sigan Hablando” (2022), and “Pa Las Baby’s y Belikeada” (2023). Their innovative approach to música mexicana involves fusing traditional corridos with hip-hop, Latin, and dance influences. This experimental sound is evident in projects like “Pero No Te Enamores” (2024), which explored electronic dance music and house genres, drawing inspiration from artists like Drake. By 2024, they had placed three albums in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for seven consecutive weeks with “Tu Boda.” They are recognized for pushing the boundaries of their genre, earning titles such as “transgressors in the música mexicana space” by Billboard and “the hardest-working act in música mexicana” by the Los Angeles Times.

They have also provided shelter for victims of wildfires in Southern California and expressed support for communities affected by ICE raids, releasing limited-edition merchandise to benefit the Immigrant Defenders Law Center. Their extensive list of accolades includes multiple Billboard Music Awards and Latin Billboard Music Awards, such as Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year (Group) and Best Duo/Group, solidifying their standing as a leading force in regional Mexican music.
