Gavin Turek, born in Los Angeles, California, established herself in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Her musical style integrates disco and dance elements. A notable early career milestone occurred in April 2015 with the release of her single “Frontline,” an homage to Donna Summer, and its B-side “Don’t Fight It.” The latter track was subsequently remixed by Grammy-nominated producer starRo. This release was handled by 1nfinity/Iheartcomix.
In August 2015, Turek collaborated with Tokimonsta, whom she had connected with years prior through Myspace music pages. Their joint extended play (EP), titled “You’re Invited,” featured songs written by Turek and produced by Tokimonsta. This EP was released through Young Art Records. Turek also became involved with Mayer Hawthorne’s band, Tuxedo, performing backing vocals starting in 2014. During the summer of 2015, she toured the East and West Coasts with Tuxedo and Tokimonsta. In 2017, she launched her own record label, Madame Gold, and released the EP “Good Look for You” on this label. Later, on July 23, 2021, she released her debut full-length album “Madame Gold” through Madame Gold Records.
Throughout her career, Turek has performed at significant venues including The Troubadour, Hollywood Bowl, Palladium, and El Rey Theatre. She has been recognized by publications such as Billboard, which debuted Tokimonsta’s remix of “Frontline” and announced their EP in May 2015. Spin Magazine named her among its “top 5 artists to watch” in July 2015. Revolt TV referred to her as “LA’s Disco Queen of the Moment,” and LA Weekly featured her as an artist “On the Verge of Fame.” Further releases include “Diva Of The People” in 2024 and various singles and remixes.
