Giggs

Giggs, the British rapper and songwriter, received his first BET Award for Best Hip-Hop Act: UK following the independent release of his debut album, ‘Walk in da Park,’ in 2008. This achievement followed an impactful early period marked by mixtapes like ‘Hollowman Meets Blade’ and ‘Ard Bodied,’ which collectively sold over 10,000 units. His 2007 track ‘Talkin’ da Hardest’ achieved silver certification, further establishing his influence. His career trajectory advanced significantly in August 2009 with a record deal from XL Recordings, leading to the 2010 release of his album ‘Let Em Ave It,’ featuring Mike Skinner and B.o.B.

Between 2015 and 2018, Giggs experienced a major ascent, highlighted by his 2016 album ‘Landlord,’ which peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart (silver-certified) and featured the platinum-certified single ‘Lock Doh.’ Giggs was recognized as Artist of the Year at the KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards in 2016. He gained significant international recognition in 2017 through features on ‘No Long Talk’ and ‘KMT’ from Drake’s ‘More Life’ album, both charting within the UK Top 20 (‘KMT’ at No. 9, platinum-certified; ‘No Long Talk’ at No. 17, silver-certified).

His most recent album, ‘Zero Tolerance,’ was released in 2023. Beyond his musical endeavors, Giggs is the founder of the record label and rap collective SN1 (Spare No 1), and established ‘The SN1 Shop,’ a CD and clothing shop, in Peckham in 2010. In 2024, Giggs broadened his portfolio by becoming an ambassador for the dairy-free custard brand Oatly, engaging in community initiatives such as sponsoring a free cake and custard giveaway at Ayres Bakery, Peckham.
