Grayscale is an American rock band hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in 2011. The band consists of lead vocalist Collin Walsh, lead guitarist Andrew Kyne, rhythm guitarist Dallas Molster, and drummer Nick Veno. Emerging from the vibrant Philadelphia pop punk scene, Grayscale quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase, establishing themselves as a prominent force in the genre. Their debut EP, “Change,” released in 2015, marked the beginning of their successful journey, showcasing their unique sound and emotional depth.
In 2017, Grayscale signed with Fearless Records, a pivotal moment that propelled their career forward. Their debut studio album, “Adornment,” released in 2017, featured the hit single “Atlantic” and received critical acclaim. The band further showcased their versatility by contributing a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” to the compilation “Punk Goes Pop Vol. 7,” which solidified their presence in the music industry. The album was celebrated for its raw emotion and catchy melodies, earning a spot among the best rock efforts of the year.
Following the success of “Adornment,” Grayscale released their second album, “Nella Vita,” in 2019, which included popular singles like “Painkiller Weather” and “In Violet.” The band embarked on their first headlining tour, “The Nella Vita Tour,” further expanding their reach and connecting with fans across the United States. Their third studio album, “Umbra,” released in 2021, was described by Walsh as the most authentic representation of the band, highlighting their growth and artistic evolution.
In 2023, Grayscale began teasing new music, culminating in the release of their single “Not Afraid to Die” in September. This marked a new chapter for the band as they transitioned away from Fearless Records, demonstrating their commitment to artistic independence.
