Hudson Taylor

Hudson Taylor, comprised of brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor, formed in 2011 in Dublin, Ireland. Their early career began with busking in Dublin and various European cities, a practice that informed their debut album’s title. Their initial success was marked by their self-released debut EP, “Battles,” in August 2012, which achieved commercial success by peaking at #1 on the Irish iTunes chart and #14 in the UK. This was followed by “Cinematic Lifestyle” in December 2012 and “Osea” in October 2013. The duo’s growing profile led to supporting Jake Bugg on his UK tours in March 2013 and Autumn 2014, and performing for large audiences, including supporting The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park in 2013.

The duo’s debut album, “Singing for Strangers,” was released in January 2015 under Polydor. The album, produced by Iain Archer, reached number 3 in Ireland and number 24 in the UK. Key singles from this album included “Chasing Rubies” and “Battles.” Following their departure from Polydor in February 2016, Hudson Taylor signed with Rubyworks Records. In 2018, they released the “Feel It Again EP,” which accumulated over 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and featured tracks like “Run With Me” and “Old Soul.” This period also included a European tour and opening for Gabrielle Aplin’s North American tour, alongside their US television debut on “Good Day New York” and “WGN-TV.” Later in 2018, they released the mini-album “Bear Creek to Dame Street” and supported Hozier on his North American tour, performing at prominent venues such as the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Hudson Taylor continued to tour extensively, including a series of headline shows in the US in January and February 2019, and supporting Rodrigo y Gabriela on their North American tour in May and June 2019. They released their album “Loving Everywhere I Go” in 2020, which charted at number 1 in Ireland, and “Searching for the Answers” in 2022. The duo officially dissolved at the end of 2023, with Harry Hudson-Taylor pursuing a solo career under the alias Lady Bird Lad and engaging in English learning projects in Germany. Alfie Hudson-Taylor launched a podcast, “How to Break an Artist,” reflecting on his experiences in the music industry.
