Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon, also known as DJ HYO, has broadened her career from K-pop group member to successful solo artist and DJ, consistently demonstrating her versatility in music and entertainment. After debuting in August 2007 as a member of the highly influential K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation under SM Entertainment, Hyoyeon went on to achieve widespread success with the group. Their debut single ‘Into the New World’ and self-titled debut studio album in November 2007 launched their career. In 2009, Girls’ Generation’s extended play ‘Gee’ set a record by holding the number one spot for nine consecutive weeks on KBS’s Music Bank.

Hyoyeon released her first extended play, ‘Deep,’ in May 2022, further showcasing her evolved sound. In August 2022, Girls’ Generation reunited for their highly anticipated fifteenth-anniversary comeback, releasing their seventh Korean-language studio album, ‘Forever 1.’ As DJ HYO, she embarked on a successful North American tour in 2023, with her DJ career continuing to thrive through multiple tours across North America scheduled into 2025. Her latest solo single, ‘Retro Romance,’ was released in September 2024, maintaining her active presence and versatility in the music industry.
