I M With Her

I’m With Her is an American band formed in 2014, featuring singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Sara Watkins (violin, guitar, and ukulele), Sarah Jarosz (banjo, mandolin, octave mandolin, and guitar), and Aoife O’Donovan (keyboard and guitar). The trio first collaborated at a workshop at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, where they were asked to sing together. Their initial performance as a group took place at the January 2015 Celtic Connections festival in Scotland, and they continued to tour across Europe. In mid-2015, they spent four days in Los Angeles writing songs together, followed by an eight-day songwriting session in a Vermont farmhouse in December of the same year.

The group officially began using the name “I’m With Her” in early 2015. They covered John Hiatt’s “Crossing Muddy Waters” in 2015 and released the single “Little Lies” in 2017, undertaking a U.S. tour later that year. Their debut album, “See You Around,” was recorded at Real World Studios in Bath, Somerset, England, and co-produced by Ethan Johns. The album was released on February 16, 2018, with all tracks except the closing song, “Hundred Miles,” written by the trio. They toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe in the first half of 2018. Their song “Call My Name” received two Grammy Award nominations in 2020 for Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song, ultimately winning the latter.

In March 2025, I’m With Her announced their new album and accompanying tour, “Wild and Clear and Blue,” which was released on May 9, 2025. This announcement was preceded by the release of their single “Ancient Light.” The new album reflects the members’ musical upbringing, incorporating references to songs like Nanci Griffith’s “Love At The Five & Dime” and John Prine’s “Paradise.” Their work continues to blend individual artistry into a cohesive and acclaimed musical expression.
