Imagination ft. Errol Kennedy

Errol Kennedy, an original member of the British soul and funk band Imagination, continues to perform and produce music, preserving the band’s legacy while also engaging in social initiatives. After co-founding the iconic British soul and funk band Imagination in early 1981, Errol Kennedy quickly achieved commercial success with the trio’s debut single, ‘Body Talk.’ Released in April 1981, the track reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and sold 250,000 copies. This immediate breakthrough was followed by further chart hits that same year, including ‘In and Out of Love’ and ‘Flashback,’ both peaking at number 16. Their most successful single, ‘Just an Illusion,’ released in March 1982, soared to number two on the UK Singles Chart and was later featured as the end title song for the 1986 film F/X.

Throughout the 1990s, he extensively toured and produced with various celebrated bands, including Odyssey, Shalamar, Rose Royce, and Jamiroquai, solidifying his reputation within the soul and funk scene. Since 2009, Kennedy has continued to perform live with his dedicated band, ImagiNation feat. Errol Kennedy, undertaking tours across the UK and headlining events throughout Europe. In 2013, to commemorate the band’s 30th anniversary, he released a re-production of the classic hit ‘Just an Illusion,’ featuring T’Mar.
