Request A ShowBetter Noise Music announced four new key signings: Yellowcard, Sabaton, The Rasmus, and In This Moment, as part of a wider expansion move following a catalog sale.
In This Moment formed in 2005 in Los Angeles, California, by vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth. The initial lineup, also including drummer Jeff Fabb and later additional members, began as Dying Star before rebranding. After posting demos on MySpace, the band quickly garnered a fanbase, leading to a worldwide record deal with Century Media Records. Their debut album, “Beautiful Tragedy,” was released in 2007. This initial release featured a blend of metalcore and hard rock, with lyrics drawing from personal experiences, and showcased Brink’s vocal range. The band supported this release with appearances on significant tours such as The Hottest Chicks in Metal Tour 2007, Ozzfest in both 2007 and 2008, and tours with Megadeth, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy Osbourne.
The band’s second album, “The Dream,” released in 2008, marked their debut on the Billboard 200, reaching number 73. This album, produced by Kevin Churko, presented a departure from their heavier sound towards a more melodic approach. Subsequent albums, including “A Star-Crossed Wasteland” (2010), “Blood” (2012), “Black Widow” (2014), “Ritual” (2017), “Mother” (2020), and “Godmode” (2023), each contributed to their evolving sound and charted successfully. “Blood” and “Black Widow” achieved high chart positions, with “Black Widow” reaching number 8 on the Billboard 200. The lineup has experienced several changes over the years, with Maria Brink and Chris Howorth remaining core members.
Throughout their career, In This Moment has maintained an active touring schedule, performing at major festivals and headlining tours. Notable festival appearances include Warped Tour (2009), Download Festival (2009, 2013, 2018), Mayhem Festival (2010), Ozzfest, Uproar Festival (2012), Rock on the Range (2012, 2013, 2015), Knotfest (2014, 2022), and Welcome to Rockville (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019). The band has also received industry recognition, including two Alternative Press Music Awards nominations and a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance in 2021 for “The In-Between.” Maria Brink has been recognized as “Rock Goddess of the Year” at the Loudwire Music Awards in 2013 and 2015, and “Hottest Chick in Metal” at the Revolver Golden God awards in 2010. Their album “Blood” and its title single achieved Gold certification from the RIAA.
