Canada Nickelback has achieved global recognition as one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands, consistently delivering chart-topping hits and selling millions of albums worldwide.
Live Nation acquired 12 separate artist rights from Nickelback, encompassing touring and global distribution. This long-term global partnership deal was announced in July 2008.
Nickelback signed with The Core Entertainment for management representation, reuniting the band with their longtime former tour manager, Kevin 'Chief' Zaruk, who co-founded the company.
The Nickelback fan club was launched in collaboration with Mainfactor, using the band's D2C Shopify store and Single's Membership product to enhance fan engagement.
Nickelback signed a worldwide deal with BMG Rights Management for the release of their ninth studio album, 'Feed the Machine,' demonstrating a new label partnership.
Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. The founding members include lead guitarist and vocalist Chad Kroeger, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, and bassist Mike Kroeger. The band initially started as a cover band known as Village Idiot, playing various rock covers. They transitioned to original material, releasing their first seven-track EP, “Hesher,” in 1996, funded by Chad Kroeger. Later that year, they released their first full-length album, “Curb.”
In 1999, Nickelback signed with Roadrunner Records and EMI Canada, marking a significant step in their career. Their second album, “The State,” released in 2000, gained traction, selling over 100,000 copies in Canada and 500,000 in the U.S., earning them their first JUNO Award for Best New Group. The band achieved mainstream success with their 2001 album, “Silver Side Up,” which featured the single “How You Remind Me.” This song reached number one in the United States and Canada, becoming a defining hit and Billboard’s ‘Top Rock Song of the Decade.’ The album itself was certified 8x Platinum in Canada. Their fourth album, “The Long Road” (2003), continued their success with five singles, including the Canadian number one “Someday.”
The band’s lineup saw a change in 2005 when drummer Daniel Adair joined. With Adair, they released “All the Right Reasons,” their best-selling album to date, producing numerous top-20 singles like “Photograph,” “Far Away,” and “Rockstar.” Nickelback released their sixth album, “Dark Horse,” in 2008, featuring the top-10 track “Gotta Be Somebody.” Subsequent albums include “Here and Now” (2011), “No Fixed Address” (2014), “Feed the Machine” (2017), and “Get Rollin'” (2022). Nickelback has sold over 50 million albums globally and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2023.
