Isaac Edward Slade is a celebrated American singer and musician, renowned for his role as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rock band The Fray. His musical journey began in his youth, where he honed his skills in singing and piano, eventually leading him to pursue a Bachelor of Music at the University of Colorado Denver. Slade’s early experiences laid the foundation for his future success, as he began writing songs and learning guitar during his high school years.
In 2002, Slade’s career took a significant turn when he formed The Fray alongside his bandmates Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki. The band quickly gained traction with their EPs, particularly the ‘Movement EP’ and ‘Reason EP’, which garnered local acclaim. Their breakthrough came with the hit single “Over My Head (Cable Car)” which became a staple on Denver radio, showcasing Slade’s exceptional songwriting and vocal talent. This success propelled The Fray into the national spotlight, leading to multiple chart-topping hits and a dedicated fanbase.
After nearly two decades with The Fray, Slade announced his departure from the band in March 2022, marking the end of an era. His final concert with the group was held at the Genesee Theatre in Illinois, where he left a lasting impression on fans. Following his exit, Slade embraced a new venture by opening a record store in Washington state, continuing his passion for music in a different capacity.
