Jameson Rodgers was born on October 17, 1987, and grew up in Batesville, Mississippi. His early life was marked by a passion for both baseball and music, leading him to play baseball at Northwest MS Community College before pursuing higher education at the University of Southern Mississippi. During his college years, Rodgers began to explore songwriting and performing, activities that quickly developed a local following and provided a crucial creative outlet. In 2010, he made the decision to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, alongside a friend, a move that marked a significant turning point in his pursuit of a music career.
Rodgers’ career progression advanced steadily over the years. In 2014, he was honored with The ASCAP Foundation Leon Brettler Award, which was soon followed by a publishing deal with Combustion Music. This period saw him co-penned Platinum-selling singles for prominent country artists, including Florida Georgia Line’s Top 10 hit “Talk You Out of It” and Chris Lane’s No. 1 single “I Don’t Know About You.” He also contributed songwriting to Jason Aldean’s 2019 album *9* with the track “Camouflage Hat,” and the title track of Luke Bryan’s 2020 album *Born Here Live Here Die Here*. His independent efforts included the release of his first self-titled EP in 2016 and another in 2018, which featured the song “Some Girls.”
The year 2019 was pivotal for Rodgers, as he secured a recording deal with River House Artists and Columbia Nashville. “Some Girls” garnered significant attention, becoming a SiriusXM The Highway feature and accumulating over 80 million streams. The song eventually reached number one on the Country Airplay chart and number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020, marking his first charting single. He was recognized with the 2020 MusicRow Discovery Artist of the Year award and supported Luke Combs on his “Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour,” performing in over 60 arenas across the U.S. and Canada. His collaborations continued with Luke Combs on the single “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” which hit number 26 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on US Country Airplay. Rodgers released his major-label debut EP, *In It for the Money*, in April 2021, and his album *Bet You’re from a Small Town* later that year, which charted on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums lists.
