Dom Kelly emerged as a founding member of A Fragile Tomorrow, the alternative/powerpop band he formed in 2003 alongside his brothers Sean and Brendan Kelly. Originally rooted in Montgomery, New York, before relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, the sibling lineup gave the group an instinctive musical chemistry that shaped its identity from the start. With the 2006 addition of bassist Shaun Rhoades, the band solidified the roster that would carry its sound forward.
Over two decades, A Fragile Tomorrow has released six studio albums, including the critically acclaimed “Make Me Over” in 2015 and “Generation Loss” in 2019, the latter pair issued through MPress Records. By 2020, the group was writing its seventh record and third release for the label. Their reputation as live performers led to shared stages and support slots with Indigo Girls, The Bangles, Matthew Sweet, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Blues Traveler, K’s Choice, Amy Ray, and Garrison Starr, among many others.
Kelly’s reach extends beyond his own band’s catalog. He contributed to the Indigo Girls’ 2010 live album “Staring Down the Brilliant Dream,” appearing alongside Brandi Carlile, Michelle Malone, and Jill Hennessy. He is also recognized as an American disability activist, bringing advocacy work alongside his creative career.
