Jang Won-young, born on August 31, 2004, in Seoul, South Korea, began her career as a trainee at Starship Entertainment. In 2018, she participated in the Mnet survival reality show “Produce 48,” where she achieved first place. This led to her debut as a member of the project girl group Iz*One. During her time with Iz*One, the group released successful EPs like “Color*Iz” (2018) and a studio album, “Bloom*Iz” (2020), which included her songwriting credit for “Dreamlike.” She also made her runway debut at the Tokyo Girls Collection in 2019 and appeared on various magazine covers and in campaigns for beauty brands. Her education included homeschooling and she graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul in February 2023.
After Iz*One’s disbandment in April 2021, Jang Won-young returned to Starship Entertainment. In September 2021, she was announced as a host for the music program “Music Bank,” a role she held until January 2023. She also co-hosted the Asia Artist Awards multiple times from 2021 to 2025 and the KBS Song Festival. In November 2021, she was revealed as a member of Starship Entertainment’s new girl group, Ive. Ive officially debuted in December 2021 with the single album “Eleven.” With Ive, she has contributed further to songwriting, including tracks like “Mine” and “Shine with Me” on the 2023 album “I’ve Ive,” and “Blue Heart” on the 2024 EP “Ive Switch.” She has expanded her influence through numerous endorsements, becoming a significant figure in both music and fashion.
