Vic Mensa is a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer known for his musical versatility and outspoken activism. After being recognized as part of XXL Magazines Freshman Class of 2014, Vic Mensa solidified his presence in the hip-hop scene. His early musical journey began in 2009 as a member of the group Kids These Days, releasing the EP ‘Hard Times’ in 2011 and the mixtape ‘Traphouse Rock’ in 2012. Following the band’s split in May 2013, Mensa transitioned to a solo career, independently releasing his debut mixtape, ‘Innanetape,’ in September 2013.
He released the EP ‘Vino Valentino’ in February 2022. Mensa is also a committed activist, known for his work through the SaveMoneySaveLife foundation, which supports mental health and arts education, and for his participation in initiatives like ‘Feed the Block, Warm the Block,’ aiding the unhoused. In August 2022, he launched his cannabis brand, 93 Boyz, dedicating proceeds to clean water initiatives and expunging cannabis-related convictions. His second studio album, ‘Victor,’ was released in 2023, further showcasing his evolving sound.
