Jesse & Joy is a renowned Mexican pop duo formed in 2005 by siblings Jesse and Joy Huerta Uecke in Mexico City. Their musical journey began in their teenage years, inspired by their parents’ love for classic rock and folk music. They signed with Warner Music Latina shortly after their formation, and their debut album, “Esta Es Mi Vida,” released in 2006, quickly established them as a significant force in the Latin music scene. The album’s lead single, “Espacio Sideral,” achieved gold certification, and the duo won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2007, marking a promising start to their career.
In 2009, Jesse & Joy released their second studio album, “Electricidad,” which was certified gold and featured popular singles like “Adiós” and “Chocolate.” Their third album, “¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?” released in 2011, was a major success, achieving 2× platinum certification and earning them six Latin Grammy Awards, including Song and Record of the Year for “¡Corre!” This album solidified their reputation as leading artists in the Latin pop genre.
The duo continued to build on their success with the release of their fourth studio album, “Un Besito Más,” in 2015, which debuted at Number One on the Latin Albums Chart. This album not only showcased their growth as artists but also included the poignant song “Un Besito Más,” written in memory of their father. The album garnered four Latin Grammy nominations and won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2016.
In 2016, Jesse & Joy expanded their reach with their first dual-language album, featuring English versions of their biggest hits. Their ability to blend cultures and languages has resonated with a diverse audience, leading to their first Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in 2017.
