After establishing Flyte Tyme Productions in 1982, the Grammy Award-winning R&B/pop songwriting and record production team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis quickly made an impact with their production of ‘Just Be Good to Me’ for The S.O.S. Band in 1983, which became a significant hit. Following early collaborations with artists like Cherrelle, Alexander O’Neal, and Change, they achieved a major breakthrough in 1986 with Janet Jackson’s landmark album Control, for which they earned a Grammy Award.
