Jon Batiste is a multi-talented musician, composer, and television personality, celebrated for his expansive artistic career and instrumental roles in blending genres and engaging socially conscious themes through his work. After forming his band Stay Human in 2005, Jon Batiste went on to release his debut album, Times in New Orleans, in 2003, followed by Live in New York: At the Rubin Museum of Art in 2006. An alumnus of The Juilliard School, he earned his Bachelor of Music in 2008 and Master of Music in jazz studies in 2011. During his studies, Batiste debuted at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2007.
In 2024, he was featured as Billy Preston and composed the score for the film Saturday Night, while also performing on the Uneasy Tour and releasing the album Beethoven Blues (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 1). Looking ahead, Batiste is slated to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LIX in 2025 and will release his album Big Money that same year, in addition to receiving an honorary doctorate degree in music from Brown University in May 2025. His career continues to blend genres and themes of social consciousness, exemplified by his support for civil rights and organizations like the Equal Justice Initiative.
