Ski Aggu

August Jean Diederich, known by his stage name Ski Aggu, was born on November 3, 1997, and grew up in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. His early life included an undisclosed period in Ireland where he became a national champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He began his music career in 2018, releasing initial work on SoundCloud that frequently referenced West Berlin culture through what critics noted as prescient social commentary. These early tracks, often collaborative with childhood friend Ritter Lean, established his unique style before his breakthrough.

Ski Aggu released his first single, “Weißwein & Pappbecher,” in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by “Super Wavy” (with YFG Pave), which became his most streamed track on Spotify until 2022. That year marked a significant turning point with the release of “Party Sahne,” featuring producers Endzone and Ericson. This song, which samples the melody from “Jerk It Out” by Caesars, reached number 32 on the German Singles Chart and is considered his career breakthrough. He embarked on his first tour, “Aprés Ski,” in November and December 2022, performing across German-speaking regions of Europe.

His debut album, “2022 war Film gewesen,” was released in December 2022. In 2023, he released the single “Friesenjung” in collaboration with Joost Klein and Otto Waalkes, which achieved number one positions on singles charts in Germany and Austria. This track, a reinterpretation of Waalkes’ original, appeared on his second album, “Denk mal drüber nach…,” released later that year. Ski Aggu’s third studio album, “Wilmersdorfs Kind,” released on August 30, 2024, includes 17 tracks, with singles like “Balla Balla,” “DEUTSCHLAND” (with Ikkimel), and “Bye x3” (with Jeremias) reaching high chart positions in Germany. He continues to perform at major festivals and collaborate with various artists, showcasing his sustained growth and impact on the music industry.
