Kill The Lights is associated with Concord, an entity that supports the band and their releases, as seen through their artist profiles and album distribution.
Kill The Lights was formed in 2019, bringing together musicians from various notable bands. The initial lineup included James Clark on clean vocals, formerly of Throw The Fight, and Michael “Moose” Thomas on drums, a co-founder of Bullet For My Valentine. Jordan Whelan from Still Remains joined on guitar, along with Travis Montgomery from Threat Signal on guitar. This collective of experienced artists aimed to combine their musical backgrounds to produce heavy music.
The band’s debut album, “The Sinner,” was released in 2020. This album received positive feedback from music publications such as LouderSound and Kerrang! and demonstrated the band’s ability to blend melodic metalcore with classic metal elements. Their music often explores lyrical themes related to mental health, anxiety, and depression, as shared by singer James Clark.
In 2021, the band expanded its lineup further with the addition of Jason “Jay” James on bass and unclean vocals, also a former member of Bullet For My Valentine. Kill The Lights is currently signed to Fearless Records and continued to release new music, including their second album, “Death Melodies,” in March 2024. They have also released standalone singles, including “Into the Pit” in 2020 and a cover of Metallica’s “Battery” the same year, with “Nothing Left” following in 2025.
